My name is Richard Gagnon, and I have been working as a gameplay animator in the video game industry for nearly 18 years.

After earning a DEC in Arts from CEGEP de Sherbrooke in 2004, I shifted my focus to 3D computer graphics. In 2007, I graduated from the School of Digital Arts, Animation, and Design (NAD Center) in Montreal with a certification in 3D animation and digital design Animation oriented.

Throughout my career, I have worked with major studios such as Electronic Arts and Ubisoft, contributing to renowned franchises like Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia, and Far Cry.

In 2014, I stepped away from the AAA industry to work with independent game studios in Montreal and Quebec as a lead animator, technical animator, and freelancer. Leveraging my expertise, I helped these studios develop their animation departments. This period was an enriching experience, as the independent scene is a young and passionate industry that thrives on innovation.

Today, I am back at Ubisoft Sherbrooke, working as a senior gameplay animator. My experience in the independent sector has given me valuable technical knowledge in animation and a deeper understanding of production pipelines.
